• Larry Glatczak - Centralia High School

    Larry GlatczakOver the course of his outstanding career at his alma mater, Centralia High School, Larry Glatczak has established himself as one of the finest tacticians and motivators in the state of Kansas. A graduate of Baker University, where he played football and coached, Larry is in his 19th year of guiding the Panthers in basketball, and his fifth year of guiding the Panther football team.

    Throughout his tenure, Glatczak has an impressive 338-113 mark, while directing the Panthers to an amazing 10 trips to the State Tournament in Hays; placing 3rd four times, runner-up once, and winning the 1A State title in 2001. A perennial powerhouse in multiple sports, the Centralia Panthers captured yet another state championship, under the leadership of Larry Glatczak, with an amazing 2-1A, 11-man overtime football title in 2009, defeating Smith Center.

  • Steve Henson - University of Nevada Las Vegas

    Steve HensonSteve Henson is in his sixth year as assistant coach at UNLV. In the summer of 2007, he was recognized as one of the top 25 assistant coaches in the country by Rivals.com.

    Henson, a six-season NBA veteran, came to UNLV in the spring of 2004 after spending one year as an assistant coach at the University of South Florida. Prior to working at USF, he spent time as an assistant coach as well as an advance scout for the NBA's Atlanta Hawks from 2001-03 working under current UNLV head coach Lon Kruger.

    Henson, 41, also worked for Kruger at the University of Illinois as an assistant coach in 1999-2000

    A four-year starter at Kansas State University from 1986-90, Henson was a two-time honorable mention All-American and earned All-Big Eight Conference honors as a junior and senior. Playing for Kruger at KSU, Henson is the only player in school history to play in four NCAA Tournaments, including leading the Wildcats to the 1988 Elite Eight.

    He was named to the university's all-century team selected in February, 2003, and on Oct. 4, 2009, Henson was inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame.

    Henson was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the 1990 NBA Draft with the 44th overall selection.

    A native of McPherson, Kan., Henson graduated from Kansas State in 1990.

  • Bill Annan - Oklahoma State University

    Bill AnnanFormer Kansas high school basketball coach Bill Annan begins his first season with Oklahoma State women's basketball staff as its director of player development after a successful stint at Washburn Rural (Kan.) High School.

    Annan's run at the Topeka school spanned nearly two decades and resulted in a career record of 303-109. Under his guidance, the Lady Blues won three state titles, finished second twice and placed third once

    Annan assumed his duties as the head women's basketball coach at Washburn Rural in 1991, capturing state titles in 1996, 1999 and 2009 and producing runner-up finishes in 1998 and 2004. Washburn Rural's third-place effort came in 2000.

    Washburn Rural won 11 Centennial League titles in 18 years under Annan's guidance and made nine state tournament appearances. His teams reached the 20-win plateau six times, including a 24-1 mark in 1998 and 2009.

    A three-time Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year, Annan was also a seven-time pick as the conference coach of the year. On five occasions, he was named the Topeka Capital-Journal City Coach of the Year. Annan was twice named the publication's state coach of the year and was named the Kansas Coaches Association Coach of the Year in 1999.

    Annan served as the KBCA president in 2002 after a three-year run as its vice-president. He began his coaching career in 1986 at Seaman (Kan.) High School where he served five seasons as an assistant for the boys' team.

  • Mitch Fiegel - Wichita Collegiate High School

    Mitch FiegelMitch FiegelFor over 20 years Mitch Fiegel has guided Wichita Collegiate to the heights of 3A Kansas Hoops.  Sporting over 325 career wins, Mitch has taken Collegiate to the State Tournament on seven different occasions starting in 1989, culminating with his fourth State Championship in 2009.  Fiegel’s last title was in addition to his 1993, 1996, and 2007 state crowns.  Add to those achievements a runner-up finish in 1998 and a third place trophy in 1994.

    In recognition of his accomplishments, Mitch was named the Wichita Eagle Metro Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2009.  He was also name Kansas High School Coach of the Year by the same paper in 2007.  Last season’s state championship also netted him the Topeka Capital-Journal’s Coach of the Year award.

    Recognized as one of Kansas’ finest defensive coaches, Collegiate has always prided themselves on out-competing opponents night in and night out.  Mitch’s 328 career wins have been built on a simple notion – defense decides championships. 

  • Joe Auer - Wichita Heights High School

    Auer_head_shotLeading Wichita Heights to their first 6A boy’s state title in 32 years, Joe Auer has averaged 14 wins during the last nine basketball seasons. After inheriting a 2 & 19 team in 1995, Coach Auer has led the falcons to four state tournament appearances, as well as five runner-up and two league championships in the heralded Wichita City League.

    The coach of eight basketball players currently competing at the college ranks, Coach Auer was also the Wichita Heights baseball coach for 17 seasons, compiling over 320 victories. During those seasons, Heights won 11 league championships and competed in 11 state tournaments, finishing 2nd on three occasions.

    At the conclusion of the 2009 state championship season, Joe was named the state coach of the year by the Kansas Coaches Association and the Wichita Eagle. Coach Auer’s basketball teams have also earned a broader recognition, being ranked nationally during five seasons, including the 2009 championship season and the current 2010 season.

  • Scott Greenawalt - Kansas State University

    Scott GreenawaltOne of the top strength coaches in the country, Scott Greenawalt begins his fourth season as the strength and conditioning coach for the Kansas State men’s basketball team.

    Greenawalt has played a major role in helping revitalize the Wildcat program under head coaches Bob Huggins and Frank Martin, which has posted three consecutive 20-win seasons for the first time in 27 years.

    “I will reiterate what Coach Huggins has said about Scott,” said Martin.  “He is by far the best in the business for what he does.  I think our success this past season is a direct indication of the job Scott Greenawalt does in the weight room.  We don’t win 66 games the past three seasons without Scott Greenawalt.”

    In the past three years, Greenawalt has helped coach six all-conference players, including unanimous first team selection as well as the Big 12 Player and Freshman of the Year Michael Beasley.

    In addition to his duties with the men’s program, Greenawalt also trains the women’s basketball team, which captured the Big 12 regular season championship in 2007-08 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament the past two seasons.

    Greenawalt joined the staff as strength and conditioning coach on April 26, 2006 after spending the previous eight years in the strength and conditioning department at Cincinnati, including the last seven as head assistant coach.  He began his tenure at the school as a strength training intern in May 1999 before being promoted to assistant in July 2000.  He coordinated all the weight training and conditioning for the men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and volleyball teams, while assisting with the football program

    Greenawalt, 34, earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education and health from Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio, in 1998.  He was a four-year starter at linebacker for the Muskies from 1993-96, earning All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors three times and serving as team captain as a senior.  Upon graduation, Greenawalt spent a year as assistant football coach at his alma mater (1997-98), working with the squad’s inside linebackers and assisting with all aspects of the strength program.
